2008 Olympic Game is around the corner. It’s not only a big competition for the athletes around world, but also will be a grand meeting for fashion.
Date back to the ancient Greece. Male athletes wore nothing but only some olive oil to show their vigorous and graceful body. With the time passed by, people gradually found suitable clothes would help them do a better job in the game. So they began to wear different kinds of sportswear in different fields of sports and never stop to explore a better suit both in style and function.

Tennis apparel has gone through earth-shaking changes since it was first born. The early female tennis clothing were inspired by aristocratic young lady’s clothing in the Middle Ages. In the recent years many aerodynamics experts has participated in designing and making gym suits for the athletes. All kinds of factors, the geographical position, the temperature, the wind speed and the runway surface condition est., have been considered. The gym suits also select different colors and quality of materials according to the different parts of body, which may help muscles to reach a high temperature and enable the body to have more energy.
Generally, a scientifically designed suit can definitely help athletes to do better in the games.
Sportswear today has already come into normal people’s life. People wear sportswear in their daily life not only for its functional design but also for its fashionable design. In 2000 Olympics, the red and yellow fire dragons on Chinese athletes’ suits have become the most popular logo around the year.
Sportswear became more and more fashionable is a big trend. To realize it, we should continuously make progress in both inside and outside.
With the Olympics came near, China has become one of the largest and most potential markets of sportswear. Many local and international sports brands have aimed at this big chance to enlarge its own business and raise its reputation.
An Adidas senior manager indicated that their corporate goal is surpass Nike in the Chinese market before 2008 Olympics. Presently, the company sped up opening shops, and signed agreement to support Olympic Game. It has also purchased Reebok recently to elevate its competence.
Our local brand Linin has also announced one of his ambitions was to wear American athletes in Chinese brand in Olympics one day.
In fact the 2008 Olympics is really a fabulous chance for China to advocate our own fashion industry.
Recently, a Chinese concept Fashion Design competition ‘Humanity Olympics’ was held in Beijing.
It has purpose for spreading Chinese culture, developing local brands, demonstrating the Olympics spirit and innovating fashion in life. At the same time, this big game has also given out a very good proposition for Chinese Fashion Industry: How to integrate Chinese tradition elements with modern fashion? That is what we should consider.
When the Olympics comes, we hope the world would see a China: Vigorous in body, advanced in technology, fashionable in design and traditional in culture.
